What if the parties to be tested live in different cities?

If the parties to be tested live at different addresses, we can split the kit and send the sample collection components to each address separately. Since the collection components are individually barcoded, they will be tested together once the samples arrive back at the laboratory. To order a split kit, simply state “please split this kit” in the comments box of the online order form. Please also indicate which name and address to send each component. Alternatively, you can choose to have the entire kit shipped to you and you can split the kit yourself and send the collection components to the other parties in the test.

What is the difference between a private relationship test and a legal relationship test?

A private relationship test is suitable for individuals who wish to find out the truth about a biological relationship in private, before deciding on the next step. If a private test is required, the DNA sample can be collected by anyone, without any witnessing, fingerprinting or other legal obligations. The sample collection process is quick and easy, and takes just minutes to complete.

A legal relationship test is intended for court use and is accepted as legal proof of a biological relationship in court. If a legal test is chosen, the sample is collected by an unbiased third party witness, at one of our approved legal sample collection facilities. Fingerprinting and other legal obligations are also required for a legal test.

How do I sell legally admissible DNA relationship tests?

Legal relationship tests are intended for use in court. DNA samples for legal tests must be collected following strict chain-of-custody procedures at an approved legal sample collection facility. If your business is interested in becoming a chain-of-custody sample collection site and selling legally admissible DNA relationship tests, please contact us at support@genovate.com.

What if the parties to be tested live in different cities?

If the parties involved live in different cities, separate appointments at chain-of-custody sample collection sites can be arranged for each individual in their respective locations. Since the collection components are individually barcoded, they will be tested together once the samples arrive back at the laboratory.
